CORNING, Calif. - A winning lottery ticket worth $1.7 million for the Mega Millions jackpot was sold in the city of Corning, according to an email sent by the California Lottery.

According to California Lottery, the ticket matched five of the six numbers.

The ticket matched the numbers:

39-25-60-29 and 17, only missing the Mega number 19.

The winner has not yet claimed the huge prize, but it was bought at the Corning Shell located at 2176 Solano St.

Officials are encouraging people to check those lottery ticket numbers.

Lottery officials say:

“Winners are strongly encouraged to sign the back of their tickets in ink, keep them in a safe place where they’ll remember and familiarize themselves with the Lottery’s Winner’s Handbook, which can be found here. And remember, you must have your original ticket when claiming any Mega Millions prize, so be sure you don’t forget and leave it at the store!”

The jackpot Tuesday night was worth $212 million since no one matched all numbers the prize increases to $232 million.
