4-H students took time out of the ranch and spent time in the bowling alley.

The club hosted its annual “Bowl-A-Thon.”

The goal?

$3,000 to fund 10 4-h clubs across the county.

Members not only learn how to raise animals, they also learn skills like sewing and public speaking.

They had eight different teams of five people take part in the event.

Viridiana Gonzalez has been an organizer the last four years and she said she loves watching the kids' reactions.

"They get their little faces light up, and they see that when that screen lights up, they're very excited,” Gonzalez said.

She said the club's next event will be the livestock challenge on January 6 when the kids will compete and answer questions about animals that they've been raising.
