SHASTA COUNTY, Calif. - The organization “State of Jefferson” unanimously rejected the three-way split of California being proposed on the November ballot.

The concept, known as the “Cal-3” is proposed by Silicon Valley investor Tim Draper.

It would make “Northern California” the North State, Sacramento and San Francisco.

The stretch of coast from Los Angeles to Monterey could be called “California” and “Southern California” would include Fresno, Bakersfield and San Diego.

“State of Jefferson” is in favor of a California split with the North State including 23 counties from Mariposa in the south to Siskiyou to the north.

They say Draper’s initiative does nothing to resolve the “imbalance of representation” in California.
