BUTTE COUNTY, Calif. - Hundreds made their way to the Honey Run covered bridge for breakfast on Sunday morning.

For the last 53 years, the community has turned out every year for the pancake breakfast which is the bridge's association’s biggest fundraiser.

Since the association is a 501C3, they do not receive any state or federal funding so they rely largely on donations to operate.

The association is tasked with the upkeep of the bridge and making it a spot for many to enjoy.

For a small donation, those who attended were treated to pancakes, fruit and juice with the pancakes prepared by the Butte County Sheriff’s Office.

“My favorite part is just watching everybody smile and have fun. You can go into a 130-year-old icon and have breakfast and talk with all their friends and meet new people,” said Robert Catalano.

If you weren’t able to make it on Sunday, but would still like to visit the bridge, the association asks for a $5 donation to help support their efforts.
