Bundle up and get ready to scrape your windshield as you head out the door this morning. It's another cold start for your Wednesday, with some cities actually reporting cooler temperatures than 24 hours ago. Valley areas have dipped into the high 20's to mid 30's overnight, while mountain locations have mostly dipped into the teens to mid 20's. Clouds brushing across the far Northern portions of the state have resulted in slightly warmer temperatures for Siskiyou and Northern Trinity Counties. The set up for today will be almost identical to yesterday. Wind will be out of the North, skies will be mostly sunny to sunny through the day, and temperatures will end up well above average for your afternoon. High temperatures are projected to end up in the mid 60's to low 70's in the valley, and in the high 40's to mid 50's in the mountains.

Temperatures may actually become a couple of degrees warmer for your Thursday afternoon, but conditions will still be very similar to today. A very modest decrease in high temperatures, and increase in low temperatures will be on tap for your weekend. Some clouds will track across Northern California from Friday through Sunday, but any chance for showers will be limited to areas North of the Oregon border.

The modest cooling trend will continue through the start of next week, but temperatures will continue to be above average for your afternoons. Morning low temperatures will also continue to be very chilly, and may even become cooler than this week by the middle of next week. Clouds and cooler high temperatures are expected to return for the middle to latter part of next week. Showers will continue to track across areas to our North through your extended forecast, and we will have a better chance of some of those showers sagging into our region late next week.
