REDDING, Calif - With the unofficial start of summer came a whole lot of summer vibes.
Even though the temperature stayed in the mid to high 90's on Wednesday, which is relatively cool for Redding, that didn't stop people from hitting the pool.
"It feels good inside the water when it’s like really hot."
Hundreds of kids and adults decided to cool off at the water works park in Redding.
Enjoying everything from the new wave pool to the terrifying water slide called Rapture.
Guests Action News Now reporter Elizabeth Zelidon spoke with told her to kick off her shoes and enjoy a little bit of the water as they told her more about their favorite parts about being out here at the park.
"Avalanche I like how the drop and then the wave pool you can like ride the waves and its fun," said Emalee Kent.
"Ice cream and dragon fries and let the kids have a little bit of freedom while mom relaxes," said Kristy Stratton.
"I like the waves so I wanted to come here," said Laney.
Another summer staple is of course ice cream.
So Action News Now headed down to the local "Taste and See Creamery” business to talk to residents there about keeping cool.
"Well I like the creamery they always have really good stuff and it’s probably like a hundred and two degrees outside. So it’s a nice cool down," Katie Mcintyre.
It didn’t hit 100 in Redding but don't worry temperatures will be cooling down for the weekend before the real summer heat kicks in.
For those who don’t like the outdoors, residents say there is a lot to do indoors in the A.C.
Those activities include reading, playing video games, watching movies or just lying on the couch with the fan hitting you.
