A storm is hitting the North State is bringing some major rainfall threatening drivers on roads that notoriously become flooded.
The Butte County Director of Public Works, Dennis Schmidt who says they have been preparing for this storm to respond to any flooded roads.
Crews are ready with equipment, sand bags, and anything needed to help people during potential floods.
Schmidt says to keep the phrase turn around don't drowned in mind this morning even if you're only seeing the slighted bit of flooding.
"It takes a surprising little amount of water to sweep a car off the roadway that could put you in a risky situation where you could lose your life," said Schmidt.
Public Works usually places road closure signs in areas threatened by flooding, but if you see any area that is not safe you can report it to public works by calling 530-538-7681.
You can also download the mobile app called "Butte County Connect" to report flooding to public works, all you have to do is insert the address and a photo.
However, if there is immediate threat to safety like a downed power line call 9-1-1.
