Cal Fire: ‘County Fire’ Caused by Electric Livestock Fence

The fire which burned in both Napa and Yolo Counties was caused by an improperly installed electric livestock fence unit, said Cal Fire Sonoma-Lake-Napa Unit.

YOLO COUNTY, Calif. - The fire which burned in both Napa and Yolo Counties was caused by an improperly installed electric livestock fence unit, said Cal Fire Sonoma-Lake-Napa Unit.

According to Cal Fire, the more than 90,000-acre blaze has destroyed 20 structures in total and caused mass evacuations in the early part of July, but they have since been lifted.


The fire as of Wednesday is 86 percent contained with some road closures in the area.


A total of 1,606 personnel were sent to battle the blaze burning east of Lake Berryessa.
