OROVILLE, Calif. - The Oroville City Council voted Tuesday night to put a cannabis tax measure on the November ballot.

The council voted 5-1, Mayor Dahlmeier was the only council member to object the motion.

Council member Scott Thomson was absent for the vote.

The ballot will ask voters whether to implement a 10 percent business tax for cannabis businesses, which would only happen if pot were allowed to be sold within Oroville city limits.

It’s estimated the move could generate $300,000 to $600,00 a year in additional city revenue.
