OROVILLE, Calif. - The Oroville City Council voted five to one on August 7 to introduce two ordinances outlining permit rules and zoning for commercial cannabis.

The new ordinance allows the city of Oroville to license a maximum of three dispensaries. There are also regulations for various types of cannabis businesses.

The ordinance goes against federal law. Marijuana is still considered illegal by the federal government despite California making marijuana use legal.
