Oroville Traffic Stop Leads to Arrest on Drug Charges

Around 12 p.m. on Wednesday a Butte County Sheriff’s Office Deputy conducted a traffic stop on a car on Feather River Boulevard in Oroville.

Oroville, Calif.—Around 12 p.m. on Wednesday a Butte County Sheriff’s Office Deputy conducted a traffic stop on a car on Feather River Boulevard in Oroville.

The car had two people inside.

The passenger in the car was identified as 47 year old Michael Bennett of Oroville.

The deputy conducted a search of the car and found almost a half a pound of methamphetamines, marijuana, and a small amount of heroin and remnants of a butane honey oil lab.

Bennett was booked into the Butte County Jail for possession of methamphetamine for sales, and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Drug agents then served search warrants at two storage lockers in Oroville also belonging to Bennett.

Inside the locker drug agents found more methamphetamines as well as marijuana, heroin, and the remnants of a butane honey oil lab.

Additional charges of manufacturing concentrated cannabis, possession for sale of marijuana and possession of heroin were also added to his charges.

His bail is set at $57,000.

The driver of the car was released with no charges.
