Speakers from the various agencies shared what they were doing to get ready for fire season.

They also used the time to remind residents of their part all as a part of Wildfire Awareness Week.

Mike Herbrard the fire captain at Cal Fire said, “Last year, we did just under 5-thousand defensible space inspections. This year, we've already done 14-hundred defensible space inspections. We're focusing this year in Shasta and Trinity counties in Shingletown, the Happy Valley area where they are today, in Old Shasta which are all areas that have a high potential for damaging fires.”

Firefighters from Cal Fire, the Redding Fire Department, and the National Forest Service were all in attendance.
