Website Offers Mental Health Resources for Kids and Youth

Butte 2-1-1 announces new site to help families .

BUTTE COUNTY, Calif.-- Butte 2-1-1 is offering a new webite to help improve access to low and no cost mental health resources for families in Butte County.

It's designed for parents or anyone who interacts with children, and includes a searchable resource guide to help users find mental health providers who serve children and youth up to age 18. 

You will find information about Counseling and Support groups, Crisis Intervention, Hotlilnes, Screening, Assessment, Treatment, Medi-Cal Providers, Online Support Services and Family Support Programs.

The site was created in partnership with the Butte county Department of Public Health and can be accessed here.

Tara Sullivan-Hames is the Director of Butte 2-1-1 and says, "Many people don't know where to turn and t his website helps them take the next steps to find information and learn what services are available for a child."

Bute 2-1-1 says that local assessments of community health show one in  five children experience mental health challenges. 

Another study shows tht Butte County residents register the highest scores in California for Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACES).
